Who is responsible for your data?
The data controller is Gastón Marcilese, who is based in Argentina and runs www.vitabratislava.com. You can contact him about your data through the contact form.
What happens when you simply visit a page?
The site is hosted by Vercel. To deliver and protect it, Vercel processes technical request data such as your IP address, browser and the page requested. This is necessary to run the site (legitimate interest).
Which services run only if you accept cookies?
Nothing below loads until you click "Accept" in the cookie notice. If you click "Reject" or ignore the notice, these services are not loaded.
- Vercel Web Analytics, which counts visits without cookies. According to Vercel, it identifies a visit with a hash of the request that is discarded after 24 hours, and records the page, referrer, approximate location, browser and device type for aggregated statistics.
- Google Tag Manager, a Google service used to load the measurement tag below. It does not set cookies by itself.
- Google Analytics 4, which measures how pages are used. It sets the _ga and _ga_<ID> cookies, which by default last up to 2 years. Google states that it does not log or store IP addresses from users in the EU, Switzerland or the UK.
- Affiliate tracking scripts, if a page uses them, which record clicks on partner links so a booking can be attributed.
How is your cookie choice stored?
Your choice is saved in your browser's local storage under the key vita-bratislava-consent-v1. It never leaves your device.
You can change it at any time with "Cookie preferences" in the footer. If you withdraw consent, the page reloads without the analytics and affiliate scripts.
What happens when you click an affiliate link?
You leave this site. The seller and its affiliate network may set their own cookies to attribute the booking, under their own privacy policies. Vita Bratislava receives commission reports, not your personal details.
What if you contact the site?
The contact form runs on Google Forms, so Google processes what you submit before it reaches the site owner. Your name, email and message are used only to reply and are deleted once the conversation is closed, unless the law requires otherwise.
How long is data kept?
Google Analytics is set to keep event-level data for 2 months, the shortest option it offers. Vercel Web Analytics data is aggregated, and the visit hash is discarded after 24 hours.
Is data transferred outside the EU?
Vercel and Google are based in the United States and may process data there. They rely on safeguards recognised under EU law, described in their privacy policies.
The controller is in Argentina, which the European Commission recognises as providing an adequate level of data protection.
What are your rights?
Under Argentina's Personal Data Protection Law (Law 25,326) and, for visitors in the EU, EEA and UK, the GDPR, you can ask for access to, correction or deletion of your data, object to or restrict its processing, and withdraw consent at any time. To do so, use the contact form.
You can also complain to Argentina's Agency for Access to Public Information (AAIP), which oversees Law 25,326, or to the data protection authority where you live.
Can this policy change?
Yes, for example when a new service is added. The date at the top shows the current version.
